4.7 Hermana Barker and the Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Day

I'm convinced the world was against me yesterday. Would you like to know why? If you don't want to know I actually don't care I'm going to tell you anyways. First. I was really excited to have breakfast and then the spinach in my cannoli was soggy. Second. I had to play the piano which I normally like but I was mad because I wanted to sit by my comp for her last Sunday.  Thirdly. We had to take Hna Bautista to the bus terminal. And it was horrid. Im not kidding when I say I was sobbing. It was so embarrassing. But GUYS she's so. She's just increíble. I feel so unbelievably blessed to be able to serve with her for the past 3 months. She really has become my best friend and I just...I miss her so much. I'm in Leguia with my Hermana Líderes and we're trioing it up right now (partyyyy) But it was so hard to wake up this morning and not get to see Hermana Bautista. We find out tomorrow what's going to happen this transfer (I'm like 98% sure I'll b...

4.6 Most people are 80% agua, but la abuela is 70% InkaKola

There's a soda here that basically looks and tastes like liquid gold. Our pensionistas mom drinks like 70million of them a day, but then won't eat cookies because she says she's staying away from sugar. It smells like fish because we are driving next to the ocean and I'm not kidding it is very very strong like you know when you walk past a middle school locker room and it smells like axe so so strong...it's that strength but fish flavored. We're going to ilo! Last pday was dope did a tour of tacna. And rhere wasn't enough room in papitos taxi so bautista and I were in the trunk but anytime we passed police we had to duck and be as flatty pancakes as possible to not get idk deported or something. I love Peru muchas muchas and I really miss carpeted floors. Had a moment this week where I was like "heyyy I would like to go home now!" But it passed quickly because I realized I really like being a missionary.  Part of the reason probably I had this mome...

4.5 We Need To Rename Mother's Day in Peru

Image
I think the most chaotic weekend for the mothers of Peru is literally the weekend that is supposedly por them. I don't get it but maybe the peruvian women really feel peace and relaxed and gifted when they have to attend like 6 different programs and set up things for their kids and pay a bunch of money for a gift the school wants them to have? Yeah I REALLY don't understand but we got cake and really yummy shrimp and rice as a result so I'm not complaining. I love my mom but I love her everyday so everyday is mother's day. I don't want to say I felt confident in Spanish this week bcuz i  know I will jinx it if I do. So take that as you will. Elder Pino from the area presidency took a little trip down to visit us and he was so iconic. He was making jokes and the funniest part was he thought he was so funny and he's just this cutie old fella cracking himself up. One thing he said really struck me. He said pretty much "if you were going to leave your home (wh...

4.4 somos fitness

We are back at migraciones again (hopefully for the last time) basically have been here for an hour just to get a little plastic card but whatever.  Fuego week I will say. It went so so fast. 1. "No queremos bailar." "Pero no importa que ustedes quieren, es un regalo por sus madres" "no." "Mira, las niñas estan bailando" "si. Porque ellas son las madres futuros" <<helped out for the primary activity and the boys did not want to practice the dance for their moms 2. Decided "somos fitness" this week and worked out in the mornings with Mamita, lifting weights and listening to Minions covers of songs....yeah. I tried to eat healthy and it lasted for about 30 seconds until the members brought out the Inca Kola and wafers. I'm a sucker for that stuff they know me too well. 3. Had an incredible lesson with the Elguera family (the one who has ghosts for neighbors) the mom said the plan of salvation truly answered some questi...
