Sister Emma Rose Barker (2023-2025)

So remember like 3 months ago when prez put me in a brand new area with a brand new missionary? he called me up the other night and this is about how the phone call was... Thanks.  So yeah my time in Alto Selva Alegre has come to an end (rip) and just when I was starting to really enjoy walking the same 4 streets every day (sarcasm but lowkey I like this area and mi compa:( So that's lamesauce but I am stoked out of my mind to get to train again. I kind of have the best job in the world, teaching everyone about how much jesus LOVES them.  Cutie isabella got baptized this week. She's 11 and literally as tall as me, which is how tall I was when I was 11, so it's all making sense now why all the boys were so short when i was young. I am so bad at writing emails which is so lame I'm sorry I really don't do Peru justicia.  This week was like disneyland for me. We got to go to the temple.  I love God's house. He really has such good interior design style. And holy moly being able to participate in an endowment (a special like learning ordinance) IN SPANISH I was giddy. I'm a dork I know.  BUT anyways I was very happy. Speaking of happy things. Valentina got baptized this week. My heart was marshmellowy, she bore her testimony and said she couldn't be more grateful for the example we as missionaries have given her. Best compliment in the world. We asked her how she felt after and she Goes "normal". Ay que te pasa but her brother wants to learn more now because of her :)) My poor comp was DYING last week so we did an emergency division and she went to independencia with the hermana leader who threw up in district council...and all the elders were coughing...so they all were giving each ot...

The peruvian cartel neighbor people have this giant paper machê face on their roof now. As of Sunday he has a cigar in his mouth. I'm waiting to see when they light it up.  We brought the whole zone to clean a house that was getting ready to be moved out of and it was ridiculous.  I'm pretty sure the elders made it more dirty but what can you do we get free Coca-Cola out of it.  My cutie comp made me a pancake for my halfway and it was so delightful. I cannot believe I will be back home in just 9 short months I feel like I just opened my mission call standing on that table in the stake park in spokane. I don't know how to describe how grateful I am for the person I've become in these 9 months and the joy I feel to continue growing!  Hhermana de Hoyos is ill. And yes that's me eating a potato like an apple. Peru things. It's starting to get roasty here in the mornings which is sad because I've loved my 75 degrees so much. But exciting because summer is coming...

This week was an absolute whirlwind. Like i feel like pday was yesterday but last tuesday was like at least a month ago. TIME IS SO WEIRD ON THE MISH but bueno.  Ill be so honest my camera roll right now is full of screenshots of pme (my missionary scheduling app) and random.phone numbers im supposed to remember so there might not be much content...props to.hermana de hoyos for actually taking photos.  We're finally starting to see some progress here, we didnt even have a day this week with more than an hour of finding (which is huuuuge cuz usually We're knocking and calling for a good 3 or 4 hours). It makes me so joyous and also.worried that prez is gonna boot me out of here next transfer which would be so emo because there are some mega cool people we have progressing!  I thought i was getting less tired but i guess not because i started saying comp prayer the other day to start our study and fell asleep mid oracion so that was embarrassing.
