4.4 somos fitness

We are back at migraciones again (hopefully for the last time) basically have been here for an hour just to get a little plastic card but whatever. 

Fuego week I will say. It went so so fast.

1. "No queremos bailar." "Pero no importa que ustedes quieren, es un regalo por sus madres" "no." "Mira, las niñas estan bailando" "si. Porque ellas son las madres futuros" <<helped out for the primary activity and the boys did not want to practice the dance for their moms

2. Decided "somos fitness" this week and worked out in the mornings with Mamita, lifting weights and listening to Minions covers of songs....yeah. I tried to eat healthy and it lasted for about 30 seconds until the members brought out the Inca Kola and wafers. I'm a sucker for that stuff they know me too well.

3. Had an incredible lesson with the Elguera family (the one who has ghosts for neighbors) the mom said the plan of salvation truly answered some questions she'd had and they are so sweet and excited to learn more about God. I taught the plan of salvation 3x this week all by myself...I love teaching little kids bcuz they have my same vocabulary ha!

4. The youth had a temple trip this week so testimony meeting (where anyone who wants to gets up and shares their thoughts) on Sunday was craaazy. People just kept getting up go talk and finally the stake president was like OK boys 30 seconds for your testimonies if you want and all the young men at the last second decided they wanted to talk lol.

5. Called a bunch a bunch of people and knocked a bunch of doors. I accidentally said Buenos días and it was 6pm. 

6. There was this mega band playing in the streets ! I don't know why May is chaos here, but I swear the second it changed from April to may it was like BOOOOOM party time. The band was mega music man vibes I loved it (s/o Hugh jackman)

7. Made waffles this week and they tasted almost like the us yippee

8.tenemos couches now in the casa de our pension. So we started to take a nap for the last 30 min of our lunch yesterday but just ended up watching dumb church videso from the 70s and dying of laughter 

9. I have been renamed many times. Hermana Barsker, Hermana Barnard, Hermana Bahker, Hermana Parker, and my personal favorite Hermana Barko. At this point as long as someone starts with Hermana I respond. (Or hermanita, I love when the little kids call us the hermanitas) I got to explain what the word "bark" means to my comp this week, so she's decided I'm a dog and that's why all these dogs keep following us. Some guy thought we tried to steal his dog bcuz it followed us like 3 blocks from a park and he didn't have a collar so we didn't know it was owned. Lol.

10. Martin is getting baptized. Con fe. On Saturday. Prayers prayers prayers plz. Was reading ether 12 this week, and I love the pattern of having faith, realizing our weaknesses and then letting God take care of the rest:))

This week was an absolute whirlwind. Like i feel like pday was yesterday but last tuesday was like at least a month ago. 6.11 Better than disneyland

I am so bad at writing emails which is so lame I'm sorry I really don't do Peru justicia.  This week was like disneyland for me. We got to go to the temple.  I love God's house. He really has such good interior design style. And holy moly being able to participate in an endowment (a special like learning ordinance) IN SPANISH I was giddy. I'm a dork I know.  BUT anyways I was very happy. Speaking of happy things. Valentina got baptized this week. My heart was marshmellowy, she bore her testimony and said she couldn't be more grateful for the example we as missionaries have given her. Best compliment in the world. We asked her how she felt after and she Goes "normal". Ay que te pasa but her brother wants to learn more now because of her :)) My poor comp was DYING last week so we did an emergency division and she went to independencia with the hermana leader who threw up in district council...and all the elders were coughing...so they all were giving each ot...

I'm writing this email in my casa en PERU!!! LOCO. I still can't really believe I'm here haha!  I don't have much to say, but we have a great ffa program lined up. *name that film* But seriously my mind is un poco fried and so it's difícil to even remember what happened since a week ago I was in Ohio.  But to start I need to tell you how gringo i feel. I want to speak Spanish so BAD with the ward and especially my cutie compañera hma Bautista. Ella es de la Republica Dominicana!!!! My heart!!! She's so fun and cool and walks into traffic like it's nothing. And I am oblivious to traffic, am a head taller than everyone, and stand around like a dunce when someone asks me a question. I totally understand what people are saying until they ask me something simple like where are you from and all of a sudden I have yogurt for brains (which you drink here BTW.
