2.3 Gotham City

My dearest darlingest readers,

I am two months old. I know. Wild. Ŵe went to the airport force musuem today and then a Chinese buffet and now are at the church to play some pickle Ball. Kudos to the elders for planning an awesome distrito activity. 

Had a crazy week. Full of roller coaster ups and downs. Our friend steven from China is ghosting us right now which is a little concerning since the last time we talked to him the FBI had knocked on his door. So who knows.

We got to do some really fun lessons this week!!! We went to the Rosas house. They're a little less active fam and are so so cute. I got to play with the kids and spesk some spanish with them and although it was humbling to have the 4 year old speak better spanish than me, its okay cuz i understood them...even when the 8 year old had food in his mouth. We taught a lesson about the plan of salvación and how we can show god we love him. Which was a little concerning because when we asked him who Jesús was, he goes "Dios-cito!" Like... little ...God? So. We are hopefully gonna go back and do scripture study with them. 

Another cool friend we have is anthony!! He's from Guatemala and is so so cook, we taught him the word of wisdom last lesson and he hasn't vaped since. So pray for him to continue his progress!! <3

We went on a super long run on accident one morning and the sunrise was insane! I've been trying to use every oppportunity as a chance to see Gods hand, and that was for SURE God watching out for me because I'd had a hard day the day before. It has been so tiring to work so hard during the week and hope hope hope for people to come to church just for them to ghost you. Plus it's valentines day week and so all the Latino men are trying to wife up...not super awesome when you're just trying to help them come unto Christ. 

We've been down in Dayton a ton this week aka Gotham City. The best way to describe Dayton is like...you know in megamind when he takes over metrocity and the City is empty and trashy? That is Dayton. It is quite funny. We knocked some houses on a street where a confederate flag was flying and a few houses down was a kid with a full on gas mask and bullet proof vest hanging outside next to his little tykes plastic slide. And then knocked a trailer park that was FILLED with cats. Like 10 just started walking up to us. We tried a diff trailer park cuz no one answered and EVERY SINGLE TRAILER had Vietnamese people. Like 7 cops went driving by us the other night. Welcome to dayton.

We had a billion hombres show up for fútbol this week. It was super fun and I totally accidentally wiped a Latino out. I felt kinda awesome for a second for stealing the ball from him because this guy is insanely speedy until I realized he was still on the ground for a good 45 seconds longer than I was. So. Not super missionary of me. Don't worry he's okay and the rest of the night they would all cheer when I beat any of the Latinos out for the ball it was pretty funny. 

Heard Taylor swift won the super bowl. Good for her. 

Every day at 5 the national anthem plays. And I salute. It's awesome. The other day our upstairs neighbor was listening too and he cheered at the end. Merica. Gotta enjoy it while I can. 

I am grateful for the chance to improve every day. Some days I feel like I am just God's little perfect missionary and other days i feel like he really needs someone else to do this because I'm not enough. We had a lesson with this crazy funny old lady named Hma Dominguez and her big old dogs were barking and the kids she nannies were playing 3DS and the men working on her microwave were clanking around and I never felt so at home. I knew it was where Dios needed me. She asked me why I have faith. And in my broken spanish I explained that cada día yo veo milagros. Cada día. I see miracles in smiles in hugs in music in sun in wind and rain in sorrow and joy in all things I try to see those miracles. So look this week. He wants you to know he loves you<3

This week was an absolute whirlwind. Like i feel like pday was yesterday but last tuesday was like at least a month ago. 6.11 Better than disneyland

I am so bad at writing emails which is so lame I'm sorry I really don't do Peru justicia.  This week was like disneyland for me. We got to go to the temple.  I love God's house. He really has such good interior design style. And holy moly being able to participate in an endowment (a special like learning ordinance) IN SPANISH I was giddy. I'm a dork I know.  BUT anyways I was very happy. Speaking of happy things. Valentina got baptized this week. My heart was marshmellowy, she bore her testimony and said she couldn't be more grateful for the example we as missionaries have given her. Best compliment in the world. We asked her how she felt after and she Goes "normal". Ay que te pasa but her brother wants to learn more now because of her :)) My poor comp was DYING last week so we did an emergency division and she went to independencia with the hermana leader who threw up in district council...and all the elders were coughing...so they all were giving each ot...

I'm writing this email in my casa en PERU!!! LOCO. I still can't really believe I'm here haha!  I don't have much to say, but we have a great ffa program lined up. *name that film* But seriously my mind is un poco fried and so it's difícil to even remember what happened since a week ago I was in Ohio.  But to start I need to tell you how gringo i feel. I want to speak Spanish so BAD with the ward and especially my cutie compañera hma Bautista. Ella es de la Republica Dominicana!!!! My heart!!! She's so fun and cool and walks into traffic like it's nothing. And I am oblivious to traffic, am a head taller than everyone, and stand around like a dunce when someone asks me a question.
