4.5 We Need To Rename Mother's Day in Peru

I think the most chaotic weekend for the mothers of Peru is literally the weekend that is supposedly por them. I don't get it but maybe the peruvian women really feel peace and relaxed and gifted when they have to attend like 6 different programs and set up things for their kids and pay a bunch of money for a gift the school wants them to have? Yeah I REALLY don't understand but we got cake and really yummy shrimp and rice as a result so I'm not complaining. I love my mom but I love her everyday so everyday is mother's day.

I don't want to say I felt confident in Spanish this week bcuz i  know I will jinx it if I do. So take that as you will.

Elder Pino from the area presidency took a little trip down to visit us and he was so iconic. He was making jokes and the funniest part was he thought he was so funny and he's just this cutie old fella cracking himself up. One thing he said really struck me. He said pretty much "if you were going to leave your home (which I did) who would you want to take care of your stuff for you?" And of course everyone was like some one you trust someone kind someone smart blah blah. And he goes "right. And that's just your STUFF. How much trust does our Heavenly Father have in you to take care of his children?" Mic drop.

Got to see my Stanman and of course that always makes my week. President found out about 5 seconds before we started that I can play piano. The assistents were like YELLING for me and I was busy chatting and eating my knock off froot loops until prez goes "HERMANA BARKER COME HERE" and so I really thought I was in troubled but really I just got to witness prez bash the asistentes for not knowing that I could play. Needless to say, I did in fact play the piano for zone conference.

For all my cincy friends...the flow has made it down South. Basically for people not in cincy the flow is a way to find new friends and just invite them to church. I thought it was the funniest thing ever when the zone leaders sent a text out basically being like "GuYS LoOk aT tHiS cRazY nEw tHinG wE caN dO" because...#cincy had it first

Hermana Bautista and I sang the Disney song Lava for our ward party...let's just say it's a good thing that just about everyone here is tonedeaf.

One street was closed off for a mom party, like 20 moms just jamming to music while their husband's watched them and drank. Peru things.

Our district got split up!!!! Tears! Bowman isn't in my district anymore which is mega triste bcuz he is my homie. But I still have hermana Sotomayor (who is gonna be a peruvian influencer one day (just watch) ) so I'll survive.

Had a family home evening with the senior missionary couple that just got here and I'm not kidding. I had to PRAY. Like hard-core PRAYYY for patience because this hermana talked for 30 minutes about her life story and we had another meeting to get to and then they basically started teaching the whole restoration and we are trying to take it slow with this family and they were just...wow. it was. Her husband goes "dear the missionaries need to talk" and she HITS HIM and goes "NO!" Giggles at us and then continues her story. Esta señora. Prayers.

I ate a pomegranate but it wasn't a pomegranate but it was? It had black seeds and was very fruit.

I love Jesus. Like so absolutely much. I've been chatting with him lots lately. Hermana Bautista is about to finish her mission so it's been weird living with someone who is about to head home when I've only been gone for 5months (happy cumple5mez district 28D) so sometimes it's hard to think about how much LONGER I have to go. But it makes me happy too, because truly the happiest I am on the mission is when I'm working hard and bringing the light of christ to other people.

I love Cristal as well. Shes a young adult in our ward and she's gonna be the best missionary and she comes out with us all the time and also Erika. Today were going on a private tour of tacna with our ward papito and cristal and jocabed I just love my Peru friends.

I love you all! Send me an email if you love me too >:)
