5.6 hearts hurting and healing
As the festive holiday-keeper i am, we made waffles for breakfast and I wore red and white and Hermana Kelsey had on a blue dress. Happy 4th.
Anywayyyys just like that its the last week of the transfers which is legit crazy. This transfer. Went. So. Fast. Like im unwell abt it but that's ok. Prez sent out our new assignments last night so.
Stanley and I have watched almost all of the district on gospel library, two brothers 2 and even a studio c face to face. Running low on movie night material, if anyone has any hype reccomendations would love it muchly.
It's been getting quite chilly here (aka I have to wear a coat at night) so we've been wearing 2 sweatshirts to bed and the dinosaur santa hat fuzzy socks I have (shoutout mady bird for the awesome Christmas present from like 6 years ago)
MARCO said yes to being baptized!! Which is so exciting. And also so sad that I won't be here to see it beeeecause.
*pause for dramatic effect*
I'm leaving. I mean I kinda knew it was coming but I'm going to arequipa and training. So BASICALLYIMPEEINGMYPANTSOFFEAR. like how what?!?!?! If I make it through the week you'll know I survived. I'm so sad to leave mi barrrrioooo and also Lil Stan is going to rock it here but I wish I could be here to do it with her but I'm v proud of the missionary she is and know she's gonna continue to change lives :,)
So anyways! Been a killer week. Played chair soccer today for pday (yes!) I only got hit in the head twice so that's a plus. Knocked over 2 elders and body slammed another 2 in the process and then had an up close and personal view of the cancha pizo but probably deserved it.
Listened to a guy in our ward play the peru box drum. Been considering taking one up.
I looooved my personal studies this week. Ammon and alma and the buddies of Mosiah just WENT CRAZY in the lamanite towns. Sometimes I feel like im with them, teaching people who have no idea who God is. And it's so beautiful to watch them change. We got to watch the 3 nefi video when christ comes to the nefitas and heals the blind girl. She opens her eyes and the first thing she sees is christ. And i thought
I want to be her.
The first thing she sees when she opens her eyes is christ.
The first face she knows is Him.
But then I thought, wait. I do get to see Him. Every time we repent, it's like opening your eyes. It's like we're blind, just stumbling through and Christ comes and says, let me heal you.
Let Me heal you. Your eyes, your mind your heart.
Liam, this little 5 year old this week asked if the water in the sacrament was medicine and I laughed a little and said no, but his mom gave him a hug and whispered in his ear
Yes.
Yes, it's medicine for your corazoncito.
My heart felt so full, because that's really what He's about. Healing our very hearts.
I love you so much!
