5.5 Oreo rations running low…send help
Lo siento didn't get my email out in time last week but i had it written sooo you can have double the hermana barker content going on in your inbox this week.
We've had a wild week. "Its already thursday which means its saturday which means its pday" is our new saying because it fliiiiies by.
One of the jovenes we were teaching told us this week he needed to pray like 4 times before the lesson so that he could have the strength to tell me a message he had to deliver (i was not scared more just like uhhh) anyways basically he told me at some point in my life when i got home from my mission i would go through a trial, leave the light and stay in the dark side until i once again saw the light. Wanna be darth vaders struttin the streets of tacna peru.
One of our friends we're teaching who wants to get baptized and knows he wants to and in all his prayers prays to be able to get baptized but "mas adelante" *insert mega eye roll here* anyways hes been introducing us to literally every single one of his neighbors because i asked last week at a pizza activity with the JAS (young adults) if anyone had any references. Anyways weve had 2 lessons with his neighbors and the teenage neighbor boy came to church yesterday. Loco.
Peru lost to argentina. Hate that for us especially since we literally lost to CANADA last week en the Copa America. Heard USA beat bolivia so at least ive got that going for me. (BUT IM EMO IM MISSING THE OLYMPICS:( are those even going on yet? Not sure but
Had to deal with a ton of weird ward teaching friends drama crap this week. Im very very over it. I thought when you grew up it was like you knew how to be a person and deal with my life and other people and i guess i missed that class in the MTC or lost my manual or something. Im still literally just a kid like who thought it was smart to put us kids in another country like (oh wait God. Which i trust Him but dude im strugglebussing down here)
Someone in our ward lives in a house thats owned by Chileans and she was coming home this week so we went to go clean the house. And im not kidding i want to write a book about this house everytime we go i feel transported in time. Its pretty much one of the oldest houses in Tacna bcuz it was a secret base planning center in the war with chile (which we won) and i feel like its like the clock just got stopped. We were cleaning little glass figurines and the sun was filtering through the windows and the peeling teal paint just i dont know it was magic and there was a little music box and we kept winding it up with caleb whos 5 and yeah. Epic.
Jesus is real. And the book of mormon holy COW is amazing. Being able to read it in spanish and english i learn so. Much. Like every day i feel like im reading it for the first time and i love how much my testimony of it is growing.
Tell someone you love them this week:)
xoxo hermana parker (still no one in this ward knows my name *eye roll* ive been here almost 4 months)
