5.3 Officially Peruana

Knocked a door that some lady had told us we could come back later and she opened it and her dog came out and was so nice until he decided he needed to mark his territory and peed on my foot. Like in my boots. My really cute boots that I don't like as much as my ugly shoes that look like potatoes but still. I've been claimed as one of the Peruvians now.

Jorge got baptized this week! I literally love him with my whole heart. He's this little old man from Lima who is the funniest ever. We were going over the baptismal interview questions and asked him if he had ever had any troubles with the law and he goes "no no nada." Waits 5 seconds and tells us he's killed someone. Waits for our reaction of ultimate HORROR because no way can this little old buddy whose watch is too big for his wrist and rides his blue bike to church (peewee herman vibes fr) killed someone. Mentira! He goes. So that's a relief. He's so in tune with the spirit, he's sent us a million references of all his friends in all parts of Peru I love him. He was so excited to be "nacido nuevo" (born new) and told us there's nothing he wouldn't give to the gospel of christ. Heart full.

Had cake many a time this week, to celebrate our 6 months and Martin's one month of being baptized (lowkey one of my homies)

Brought Cristall, Martin and some random kid from another ward that pretends he has an Argentinian accent to a lesson, felt like we were the army of Helaman walking down the road. I loooove my peru friends that do missionary work with me

I petted a llama today so also officially more Peruvian. We went to Tarata again (this Pueblo up in the middle of nowhere with Inca trails) and I slept the whole bus ride and ate a bunch of menta Casino (its this cookie that I think I will be filling my suitcase up with when I come home I love them so much)

The ward had a father's day activity which was so funny, one of the activities was who could eat a loaf of paneton, a banana, and drink a full thing of chicha the fastest (was bummed because you know I would've smoked them all, my fast eating is a refined art learned from many years of snacking as fast as possible en route to my next run/game/rehearsal/date/lake day/etc)

I love my savior and I love being a missionary! It's really hard but it's really rewarding. I was lucky to get to call my awesome dad yesterday, he really is one of my best buddies (I know he's crying reading this right now someone get him some tissues). He's an amazing example of balancing work, family and church responsibilities, and I know everyone who knows him just feels lucky to be around him. He's a horrible dancer, a carbonara chef, a speedy driver, good at snoozing in church and horrible at sleeping at night, and just the perfect example of a father who loves the Lord. Full of love for my earthly father and Heavenly Father this week:) I can't see either of them right now, but i can feel their love ♡
