3.5 Digging a Dust Hill and Getting Deported
Have I mentioned I love being a missionary? Because I do. Its pretty much the coolest thing to wake up at 6:30 to your neighbors operatic spanish church hymns and the clown horn of the man selling tamales, knowing you get to spend the whole day telling people how much Christ loves them. And it's HARD work. I'm not discrediting that. All I'm saying is it's been beautiful to feel really truly deeply happy for the best cause in the world, sharing about the Savior.
Awesome awesome week got to do service for this awesome awesome lady. She lives on the side of a cliff and we leveled out said cliff...I think...not really sure what we were doing but moving dust. And we got so Disney music from an elder so now we have that to listen to which makes me so pumped. We had awesome lessons and Martin has his baptism hopefully Friday...pray for him !!
This weekend was General Conference, which is basically a broadcast for the whole.worldwide church with talks from our leaders! AND AND AND THEY ANNOUNCED A TEMPLE IN CINCINNATI MY OLD MISSION I'm not kidding when the prophet announced that I almost started crying. I'm so so happy for the people and my friends that will be blessed by the temple! Increíble.
I loved conference. I think it was the first conference I stayed awake the whole time, even during Gerrit W Gong's talk (max and I always fall asleep to his voice...it's just so soothing!) I went in to conference with a bunch of questions on a sticky and I'm not kidding every single one was answered. Every. Single. One. The lord answers our prayers ALWAYS. ALWAYS!! It was cool to listen to conference in spanglish...I had my earbuds in to be able to fully understand but i kept getting distracted by the fact that I actually understood everything in span too...next conference I'm ditching the ingles...I'm Peruana now (lies..but let's just pretend)
There was SO so many highlights of conference. And I'll try and cover more but the elders literally just called us and said I have to go to Arequipa for immigration so I'm outta here for the day !! (Mom if I have time I'll write more later I promise) God loves you and wants to talk to you. Say your prayers !
Xoxoxo hermana Barker
