3.3 No Más Kitty No Más Rico and No Más Almuerzo

^^our pensionista (my cute peru mom who makes me dinner) is getting married, and her fiancé is allergic to dogs and cats and so she got rid of her fatty pit bull and cat. I miss them. Also, as of this week we aren't allowed to have meals with members anymore:((( because too many weak stomached Gringos are ill. So that is mega sad but they are allowed to feed us "snacks" so don't worry I've still been munching some delish comida. I'm convinced God makes time make no sense for missionaries..because I swear last pday was yesterday and also at the same time a million years ago. What day is it even? Send help please I wrote that the date was 2023 on the board in English class :[] There were some epic moments this week and also v hard ones. We're teaching a new friend named Marian and she just RADIATES with joy. She's been going to institute with her friend and just started meeting with us this week. She has so many questions and truly wants to know God. It's incredible. She wants to meet as often as we can and just AAAhhh she's a missionarys dream to teach. We had a lesson with her yesterday on the sidewalk outside her house and that sidewalk felt as special as a temple for me in that moment. Like we were in this little bubble of GOOD. Heart happy for sure. We had cake 3 times this week. I enjoy cake. One thing you all should know about peru is for some reason they like love Jello. Like LOVE this stuff. We have it all. The. Time. There's this wack cake here that's like cake, whipped cream and a layer of jello directly on rhe top. And I love all those things separately, but together they are a bit soggy. Not delish. Someone in our ward had a birthday this week and so we attended their little party (to be honest not sure why...it's crazy as much as I love talking to people forforever I was getting very antsy feeling like we were wasting the lords time. Been in a couple spots this week where I really really wanted go just go out and find/teach...but we were in casas de miembros. Eek) and there was SO MUCH NOISE and seventy million conversations happening at once even though there was only like 13 people there. They spent 10 minutes arguing about how many missions there are in Lima and to be honest I still don't know how many there are. I'm kinda in love with this city. There are dogs who live on roofs and SCREAM at us when we walk by..I got drooled on yesterday by a roof dog so that was no fun. Currently we are in the church with the zona about to play some futbol and volleyball (hopefully) and then yeah who knows. I'm being antisocial by writing this email so probably that'll be all for this week. Love you all so much. I'm grateful for the peace the gospel brings, direction and love I feel.its amazing that I'm thousands of miles from home and everything is different...except one thing. The love of God:) love you all Xoxoxo hermana emma barker
