CUATRO. January 10, 2024

You know on old VHS tapes how they fast forward and it makes that whirring sound and every once in a while you hear some words and so you kinda know what is happening but mostly it all goes so fast so you don't get any of it? Yes? No? Maybe that was a poor analogy but you get the idea. My week has been mega VHS tape on fast  forward.

ITS BEEN A WHOLE MONTH that I have gotten to wear my tag and be a missionary. Only 2 weeks left of MTC food. The joy. In all reality though, it really is such a special feeling to have Christ's name written on your chest at all times. I bore my testimony this week about that; I want to have a countenance of Christ. When I walk in a room I want people to look at me and go "Oh yeah. She loves Jesus." Cuz I do!!

We went to the temple this morning and got to do baptisms. It was such a sacred experience and I love always being in the temple. That's one thing pretty awesome about being at the MTC, you can walk right over and gain power and love from the Lord so easily. So even though walking back from the temple I thought my hair was going to freeze into a solid icicle, it was so so worth it.

Spanish has been going mediumly well. One hour I'll be so on top of it, totally get what my teachers are saying, si si si, and the next hour it is all yo no entiendo. We did the macarena during class this week to allow for our brains to not explode and probably that was the best part of my day ha! We  did a random practice spanish speaking and stanley and I could not do it. I think between the three of us we said 5 words. And then the other one would try and help....it was no bueno. Our teacher finally cut us out of our misery and everyone applauded because they thought we were the best spanish speakers that had ever heard. If they were deaf.

For some very stupid reason, Sister Barnard and I stayed up till almost 2 am talking last night so I am having a super hard time remembering what I was going to say! I shall try very hard to think of anything iconic.....
....still thinking....
OH DUH!!! We got to have ANOTHER apostle come speak to us. Ulisses S Soares came last night. It was sososo cool! He walked in and waved and said "It's so good to see you!" I smiled so big, because for some reason it really really felt like he KNOWS me. He gave an incredible talk on the power of joy in our lives. He reminded us that joy is always a choice, and it is always contagious. He cried a bunch this Do something this week that spreads joy! And then tell me about it!

STAN AND I FOUND ICE CREAM. (if anyone is at the provo mtc, its in t3 on the side little building...byu creamery ice cream. I think I cried a little. Also, I survived fast sunday here, which I think was the hardest thing of my mission so far. I was so so so hungry. Fasting is when we don't eat for 2 meals to focus on God instead of being distracted by our bodies. BUT I WAS SO HUNGRY :(((((((((( but i did it and the meal after was probably the best food ever I have tasted.

It has been DUMPING snow so I will include fotos. I so wish I could go skiing.

We've been hanging out with the other spanish sisters down the hall. we powwow every night and gossip about our elders and it is my fav. I love themmmm

Anyways. Splendid week. Miss yall. Pray that my visa will go through!! It's getting closer and I'm so excited to share the gospel in Peru!!
